I remember watching the Saints play the Buccaneers for the right to go to the #SuperBowl. It was a good game.
And when the dust settled, I saw this look when #DrewBrees left the stadium. I knew then that his time was over. He didn’t announce it at that point, and maybe he was just contemplating it, but deep down I knew he was done.
There’s a look a player has when he/she has played their last game, last match, last… whatever. And he had it. He gave everything he could to the game.
He may have been drafted by the Chargers, but he IS what New Orleans is all about – flash, dash, durability, and resiliency.
I’ll be the first to tell you that I’m not a Saints fan, but he made that team exciting and fun to watch.
The team will go on without him, but in my opinion, they will always carry a persona that he brought with him to the Big Easy – steady perseverance.
Good Iuck in your next endeavor, Drew. You will be missed.
