Dear Reader,
I was planning on writing this post yesterday, but I’ve been sick over the weekend. I’m still not feeling all that well, but well enough to stick to this commitment that I’ve made of myself.
Foot Is Healed
So, I got some surprising news at the wound care clinic on Friday. In examining both of my feet, the doctor informed me that my wounds were healed. After two years of open sores on the bottom of my feet – and a toe amputation – my wounds have closed.
Even though they are technically healed, I will still need to wear some specialty shoes for a while, so that the skin can formulate. The plan is to go to wound care this week and get another cast. But between castings, I have to run to a diabetic shoe store to have my feet fitted for these new shoes that’ll be made for me. It’s another step in the process, but I’ve been wanting to get to this point for a long time now. I’m ready to get onto the next phase.
Working Again?
So since last March/April, I’ve pretty much stopped working. Being that I was a rideshare driver, work was slowing down – mostly because of the coronavirus. So, it worked out that I could take the time to allow my feet the time to heal. And even though my feet are technically healed, I’m still going to take it slow and still be cautious of my return to work. The last thing I need is for my wounds to reopen and to start this process all over again. In the meantime, I am looking into some online stuff that I can do to possibly generate income. Cross fingers.
So that’s what’s going on with me, as of late. Another week has come and gone, and things are feeling positive, right now. Until my next entry, thanks for reading, and I’ll see you later.
